Johan Franzen scored the winning goal in the Red Wings' 3-1 win over New Jersey Friday night, extending his point streak to five games. Since tallying just five points in 13 October games, The Mule has been on fire ever since, scoring seven times and totalling 15 points in his last 11 games.

Johan Franzen has been absolutely lighting up the scoresheets since returning from an undisclosed upper-body injury on Nov. 12th. In eight contests since his return, Franzen has registered 11 points along with 24 shots on goal while also chipping in with 11 hits, 10 penalty minutes and a plus seven rating. He started the 2013-14 season in slow motion with five points in the first 13 contests, but has certainly found his groove as of late. If you can get your hands on him, make sure you do so.

"I thought he was pretty good," Babcock said of Franzen. "Both him and Helmer, I mean, they haven't played a lot of hockey. They dominated some shifts. I thought those guys played well, gave us a real good second group."

Franzen would not go into detail on what he was suffering from, but he had to leave the Wings' match on Nov. 1 in Calgary after two periods because he felt nauseous. Daniel Cleary might be a healthy scratch on Tuesday to make room for him.
