Franzen's status should be known Thursday morning. Todd Bertuzzi would likely take Franzen's place in the lineup if he can't go.

Babcock paired Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg together in an effort to energize the team following Thursday's 4-2 loss at Phoenix. He had Franzen center the second line with Valtteri Filppula and Gustav Nyquist. Franzen won 8-of-13 faceoffs,

Franzen left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury but will not miss any time. Franzen is slowly starting to find his scoring touch lately, he has two goals and four assists in his last six games.

Franzen was originally listed as doubtful for Sunday with a lower body injury, but he is now expected to play.

It does not sound like Franzen is going to play tomorrow. If he can't go then Daniel Cleary will move up and play with Datsyuk and Abdelkader.

Franzen left yesterday's game early with a lower-body injury and did not return. Monitor his status prior to Sunday's game.

After the game coach Mike Babcock said he had no update on Franzen, and doesn't know if injury is significant. He will be evaluated Friday when they return to Detroit. The Wings don't play again until Sunday.

Franzen (hip flexor) hasn't played since February 10th, will be a welcomed addition to a depleted Red Wings roster. Franzen has nine points in 12 games this season and should continue to be a solid fantasy contributer.

Franzen has missed the Red Wings last seven games with a hip flexor injury but should return on the Red Wings two game California trip. The Wings have battled the injury-bug all season and the return of Franzen would certainly help the likes of Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Brunner who have been carrying the team offensively.

Franzen won't play today against the Canucks, but is expected back in the lineup Wednesday against LA.
