The 36-year-old veteran has two games left on the schedule to reach 80 points for the year, a feat the 1997 No. 1 pick has reached six times in his career.

At this point in the season, it may be time to sit both Thornton and Jaromir Jagr in the same room and question them about the fountain of youth. Whatever the 36-year-old Thornton is eating for breakfast, we want some -- after all, he's on nearly a point-per-game pace with 72 in 74, rolling up stats with incredible consistency. Amazingly, he hasn't gone more than one game without a point since he was kept quiet Dec. 9 and 12. In 45 games since then, Thornton has the eye-popping stat line of 13 goals, 56 points and a plus-22 rating. He really must be eating some supercharged Wheaties.

The 36-year-old is also on pace to post his highest plus/minus rating (plus-23) since the 2006-07 campaign.
