Bratt skated just 12:38 in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to San Jose, the second-lowest ice-time total on his team.

Only Stefan Noesen played fewer minutes, and Bratt didn't exactly earn more ice time, totaling two blocks without a point or shot on goal. The 2016 sixth-rounder from Sweden got off to a scorching start with 12 points in his first 13 games, but he's only racked up 23 points in 56 appearances since.

Bratt picked up two assists while adding four shots and a plus-1 rating in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Flyers.

The rookie hit the wall in the latter half of January, managing only one goal and one assist in his previous 12 games with a minus-9 rating before Tuesday's performance. Bratt has had a surprisingly productive season overall with 12 goals and 33 points in 55 games, but his youth and inexperience in handling the physical grind of an NHL campaign work against him keeping up that pace down the stretch.

Bratt sniped the Devils' only goal Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Philadelphia.

Bratt's excellent rookie season continues. He has 30 points in 44 games and that's good enough for a tie for fifth in freshman scoring. The teenager's motor never shuts off -- not for a single shift. And that makes Bratt a coach's dream. Continue to trot him out each game -- he has six points, including four assists, in his last seven games.

The rookie has now collected a goal and four assists through his past five contests and boasts a rock-solid 2.54 points per 60 minutes for the campaign.
