Petry (upper body) will not play Saturday against Nashville. Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Petry is considered day-to-day, and could return as early as Monday in New York against the Rangers. Petry missed practice Friday after he was injured in Thursday's contest with Pittsburgh. The Red Wings will recall Justin Holl in a corresponding move Saturday.

Petry (upper body) was not on the ice for Friday's practice session, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Petry -- who was forced to leave Thursday's clash with Pittsburgh early -- should probably be considered questionable, at best, to feature against the Predators on Saturday. If the veteran blueliner is ruled out, Erik Gustafsson figures to see the biggest uptick in ice time, while Albert Johansson could make his NHL debut.

Petry (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Petry was ruled out for the rest of the game early in the third period. It's unclear at what point the defenseman was injured. He logged a hit, one shot on goal and a minus-1 rating in 9:34 of ice time. Albert Johansson could replace Petry in the lineup Saturday versus the Predators, but the Red Wings also have Justin Holl in the AHL as a more experienced option.

Petry registered a goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Thursday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Petry fired the puck from the right circle and managed to avoid all the traffic in front of his heavy shot for a top-shelf tally. The defensive effort also was on point, as Petry seemed to play with confidence and grit while facing his employer from last year. Petry had 31 points through 61 games with the Penguins in 2022-23. He's at a mere three goals and 20 assists through 70 games in his debut campaign for the Wings, albeit with 127 blocked shots and 138 hits for the more predictable part of his player profile.

Petry recorded an assist and blocked a shot in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
After being questionable for the game due to an illness, Petry remained in his regular spot on the second pairing with partner Simon Edvinsson. Petry finished with one shot, three hits, one blocked shot and an even rating in 19:56 of ice time. This was only the second point for Petry in March. While he still plays top-four minutes for the Red Wings, the 36-year-old cannot be relied upon for producing points at this stage of his career.

EDGE Analysis
Petry is expected to skate on the second pairing against Washington. He's tallied 19 points through 62 games this campaign.

Petry (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Capitals, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.
EDGE Analysis
Petry didn't participate in Monday's practice and could end up being a game-time decision versus Washington. He has produced two goals, 19 points, 118 blocked shots and 118 hits across 62 outings this season. If Jake Walman (lower body) isn't ready to return Tuesday, Justin Holl could take Petry's spot in the lineup.

Petry recorded an assist in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
This was the first point in eight games for Petry, who has struggled with a minus-9 rating over that span. He's been physical with 18 hits and 23 blocked shots amid the slump, but the Wings need more out of pretty much everyone, as they are 2-10-0 over their last 12 games. For the season, Petry has two goals, 17 assists, 112 hits and 114 blocked shots in 59 games, which aren't numbers that jump off the page.

Petry earned a secondary assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.
EDGE Analysis
Petry fired the puck through heavy traffic, and a fortuitous deflection off teammate J.T. Compher culminated in a Lucas Raymond tally at the doorstep. Not every helper will be pretty, but it all looks the same in the box score, as Petry is up to 14 assists and 16 total points through 46 games. The veteran defenseman continues to work on the second defensive pair, albeit while lacking opportunities on the power play.

Petry delivered an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Petry provided a no-frills pass in the defensive zone, spurring forwards David Perron and Lucas Raymond, with the latter deking goalie Casey DeSmith at the doorstep to open the scoring. At 36 years old, Petry is averaging a career-low 18:39 of ice time in his debut season with the Red Wings. He's posted two goals, 13 assists, 56 hits and 77 blocked shots through 42 games, which probably isn't enough to put him on the fantasy radar outside of deep leagues.
