Jed Ortmeyer has been called up by the Minnesota Wild. Ortmeyer provides a veteran presence at the AHL level and he's a nice guy to have in your organization to fill in for an injured NHL player. He's one of those guys that will have more value to his employers than he will to fantasy owners.

Jed Ortmeyer has been sent to the minors. Ortmeyer is projected to start the season in the AHL. He had eight goals and 19 points in 60 AHL contests last season.

Jed Ortmeyer and Warren Peters are battling for the 13th and final forward spot with the Minnesota Wild. It was thought the battle would be between Cody Almond and Casey Wellman but they are out with injuries."He's a great leader," coach Mike Yeo said of Ortmeyer. "He's a guy that's never ever going to shortchange you on his effort and his commitment to winning a hockey game." Peters also has a good chance to crack the lineup. Both have some value in penalty minutes.
