Jean-Gabriel Pageau says he has to prove himself again despite his postseason success. Pageau had a heck of a playoff for the Sens, highlighted by his hat trick during the Montreal series. It caught us off guard considering Pageau's meager offensive numbers in the AHL and decent showing before that in junior. It remains to be seen if the 20-year old can sustain that type of offensive production in the NHL regular season, but he should an interesting follow during camp.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored for the Senators in their 4-3 loss in Game 2 of their second-round series with the Penguins on Friday night. The coming out party continues for the 5-foot-9 winger who now has four goals and two helpers in seven playoff games. Kyle Turris notched a power-play goal and Colin Greening had the other marker. Chris Neil had four penalty minuets, a game-high six hits and a helper. Ottawa needs to figure out a way to hold on to pucks longer and sustain pressure or this will be a very short series for them. The upside is that this is a team that has brushed aside adversity the entire season.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau recorded a hat trick for the Senators in a 6-1 romp over Montreal Sunday night. Pageau was the hero in Ottawa's regular season finale against Boston and the diminutive center has clearly carved out a permanent role with the club after this effort. Daniel Alfredsson also picked up a goal and two assists in the victory while Jakob Silfverberg and Kyle Turris also found the back of the net. Erik Karlsson and Sergei Gonchar each chipped in with a pair of assists.

Although he was a decent scorer in the Quebec Junior Major Hockey League with Gatineau, Pageau was merely pedestrian in the AHL this season with Binghamton registering only 29 points in 69 games. The diminutive winger can be ignored in fantasy pools for now.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau will make his NHL debut Thursday night. He was brought up from the minors on Wednesday. Pageau has 29 points in 69 AHL games with Binghamton this year. He'll replace Peter Regin, who will be a healthy scratch, in the lineup.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau will get a chance to play alongside Jakob Silfverberg and Mika Zibanejad in AHL Binghamton. This is a big opportunity for Pageau, who is making the jump from the QMJHL after being selected in the fourth round by the Ottawa Senators in 2011. Zibanejad and Silfverberg might have both made the Senators' opening game roster if not for the lockout, so in that respect you can also count Pageau among the young players that actually stands to benefit from the work stoppage.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators. The fourth-round pick of the Senators in the 2011 draft registered 32 goals and 33 assists in 46 games with Gatineau and Chicoutimi in the QMJHL this past season. Assistant GM Tim Murray said he would prefer for Pageau to play in the AHL with Binghamton next year, but he is eligible to stay in junior for another campaign as an overage player.
