Goalie Jason LaBarbera, who was recalled recently by Edmonton Oilers, likely will be sent back soon to Oklahoma City of the AHL. The Oilers are preparing for the return of goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, who has been injured, which makes LaBarbera expendable.

The Coyotes capitalized on two third-period, power-play goals to erase Edmonton's lead and steal the victory after squandering a 3-1 advantage. With Dubnyk struggling, LaBarbera hasn't been able to seize the opportunity.

Jason LaBarbera, who left the Arizona desert for Edmonton in the off-season, will start in place of Devan Dubnyk when the Oilers visit the Coyotes this afternoon. The Oilers are last in the Western Conference with a record of 3-7-1 and back-to-back road games looming. They'll take on the Kings in Los Angeles on Sunday. "You can look at the standings and start to panic or you can prepare for your next game," Edmonton coach Dallas Eakins said. "If you look after your next game, the standings look after themselves. I'll be very honest. I couldn't tell you who the top three teams are in our conference right now. All of that is minutia to me. If we can prepare and if we can have success in our next game, then the standings will look after themselves."

Jason LaBarbera couldn't help the struggling Oilers Tuesday night as he suffered his second straight defeat, a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The veteran falls to 1-2-0 on the year with a 3.22 goals against average and a .871 save percentage.

LaBarbera is 1-0 this season with a 2.70 GAA and a .897 save percentage. "I'm leaning that way," coach Dallas Eakins said when asked if LaBarbera would start against Washington. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
