Jan Hejda does not have a concussion after beign elbowed in the head by Raffi Torres on Friday. Hejda wasn't feeling 100% after the game, but he's fortunately feeling healthy enough Saturday to play. He has 12 points, 66 hits, and 67 blocked shots in 39 games this season.

Jan Hejda took an elbow to his head from Raffi Torres in the second period and may have suffered a concussion. Hejda finished the game but was not feeling 100 percent after the game so it remains to be seen how he will feel in the upcoming days.

Jan Hejda scored a goal, was plus-three, and logged a team-high 23:18 minutes in Wednesday's 6-1 victory over New Jersey. Hejda went into the contest with a team-worst minus-16 rating. "Plus-3 right now is big for me, feels better than the goal I scored," Hejda said. "Plus-3 feels unbelievable." Hejda only has fantasy value in very deep leagues or ones that use hits and blocked shots as categories.

Jan Hejda assisted on the game-tying goal in Colorado's 3-2 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hejda said it didn't matter to him who the Avalanche got the two points off of, but the fact that it was his first game back in Columbus certainly adds to Wednesday's events. Hejda spent four seasons with the Blue Jackets, but he didn't like Columbus' proposed contract extension. Hejda, who signed with Colorado over the summer, said prior to the game that "it still pisses me off. When the offer came out, to be honest, I felt like I wasn't respected here." For one game at least, Hejda made the Blue Jackets look bad for letting him go.

Jan Hejda will play in Columbus on Wednesday for the first time since his contract extension negotiations with the Blue Jackets broke down. "I was disappointed," Hejda said. "To be honest, it still pisses me off. When the offer came out, to be honest, I felt like I wasn't respected here. I did some work here for four years, and (the contract offer) was not close to what I was looking for." Hejda spent four seasons with Columbus, but he ended up inking a four-year contract with Colorado over the summer. We wouldn't be surprised if Hejda is particularly effective against his former team.

Jan Hejda is happy to be a member of the Colorado Avalanche this season. Hejda signed quickly with the Avs after he became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The former Columbus Blue Jacket will be paired on the top unit alongside Erik Johnson. "He's been in the league for a little while now, and we just mesh really well together," Johnson said. "I think we've found a little niche. He's actually surprised me with how much skill he has. If he's had a label, it's probably as a defensive defenseman, but he skates very well and moves the puck very well." This is great news for Johnson owners as he can be a more offensive player and take chances with the solid veteran Hejda beside him.

Jan Hejda (knee) returned to the Colorado lineup on Thursday. Hejda played in the Avs 3-1 loss to St. Louis and coach Joe Sacco was pleased with Hejda's game. "Jan Hejda played his first game tonight, and I thought he looked good," Sacco said. He was projected to miss the first three-four weeks after injuring his knee a week ago, but he has recovered very quickly and will likely play in the opener. He led Columbus last season with 158 blocked shots and was good in hits with 152. He has little fantasy value unless you play at least one of those two categories.

Jan Hejda (knee) took part in Tuesday's practice. Hejda is way ahead of schedule after initially being projected to miss up to four weeks due to an injury sustained during a scrimmage last week. Avalanche coach Joe Sacco is now describing Hejda as day-to-day and there's a chance that he will play in one of Colorado's remaining preseason games.

Jan Hejda is out of the Colorado lineup with an injured knee. Coach Joe Sacco did not know when Hejda injured his knee. He has fantasy value in some rarely used stats such as hits and blocked shots so he is worth picking up if you play those categories. He will be out for the next two-four weeks and will miss the opening game at least.

The Colorado Avalanche have signed Jan Hejda to a four year contract. No terms have been announced at this time. Hejda and the Columbus Blue Jackets broke off negotiations this morning and he is now a member of the Avs. Look for Hejda to shine in Colorado as he led the Blue Jackets last season in blocked shots with 158. He also had 152 hits to go with 20 points so he has some fantasy value if you play those categories.
