Jamie McGinn is excited about what his trade to the Avs could mean. McGinn is excited over the chance to show what he can do on what is a very young Avalanche squad. He has said that he is taking a look at the bigger picture and what it could mean for him. Coach Joe Sacco has indicated he would likely use McGinn on the third line and on the PK. The 22-year-old was 12-12-24 in 61 games with the Sharks while averaging 12:33 per game.

McGinn gives a great deal of credit to the play of Michal Handzus as the veteran has made things a lot easier on the ice for McGinn. McGinn has only three goals this season so his fantasy relevance is negligible.

Jamie McGinn has reportedly signed a one-year, two-way deal for $680,000 with the San Jose Sharks, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie. The Sharks are expected to make an official announcement later, but consider the contract done. McGinn notched six points and 33 penalty minutes in 49 games with San Jose this past season.
