Benn suffered an upper-body injury and won't to return to Sunday's contest against Chicago, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old suffered the injury early in the first period, and is now officially out for the game. The severity of the injury is unclear, so expect an official word from the team post-game. With Benn out, Radek Faksa appears to have taken his spot on the second line and the power play.

Benn scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 5-2 win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The two-goal night breaks a nine-game goalless drought for the Stars' captain. It's been a trying season for the 29-year-old, as Benn is averaging just 0.67 points per game, his lowest nightly output since his 2009-10 rookie campaign. He finished with a team-high five shots on goal in Thursday's win.

Benn dished out two assists -- one on the power play -- in Monday's win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Benn has been relatively cold since the calendar flipped to 2019 with just four points in 11 games. He waited until the third period to get revved up in this one, adding a secondary assist on John Klingberg's power-play goal and feeding a perfect pass to Tyler Seguin for the game-winning tally. This is Benn's first multi-point game since Dec. 20 and his eighth of the year.

Benn (upper body) will reenter the lineup Sunday evening against host Winnipeg, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Stars captain missed his first game of the season Friday, but the Stars still managed to eke out a 2-1 win over the visiting Capitals. Benn has plenty of room to build off his progressive total of 32 points (17 goals, 15 assists) through 41 games.

Benn (upper body) will not dress for Friday's game against the Capitals, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn was withheld from part of Wednesday's game against the Devils for precautionary reasons, but it appears the issue will force him to miss at least one more contest. The star winger's next opportunity to retake the ice arrives Sunday when the club travels to Winnipeg, while Erik Condra, who was recalled from AHL Texas on Thursday, will presumably draw in against the Capitals.

Benn (upper body) remains day-to-day, per Stars coach Jim Montgomery, who also clarifies that the forward is not in concussion protocol, Matthew DeFranks of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn reportedly was removed from Wednesday's clash with the Devils for precautionary reasons, but not before the top-line center bagged his second goal in as many games. We strongly advise against making any rash fantasy hockey decisions involving Benn, as his injury does not seem to be all that serious.

Coach Jim Montgomery indicated after the game Wednesday versus the Devils that Benn (upper body) was removed as a precautionary measure, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Benn exited after taking a hit from the Devils' Miles Wood, but it fortunately appears he's avoided a serious issue. Still, it's worth monitoring the star winger's status as Friday's game against the Capitals approaches.

Benn left to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the Devils and will not return due to an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
There's some serious cause for concern for Dallas should the issue prevent Benn from taking the ice in the near future. For now, it's best to consider the star winger day-to-day as a matchup with the defending champs looms Friday.

Benn and teammate Tyler Seguin have been publicly called out by the Stars' ownership and management team for not meeting performance expectations, Sean ShapIro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stars CEO Jim Lites and owner Tom Gaglardi aren't mincing words when it comes to their opinions about Benn and Seguin, having gone as far as exchanging expletive rants with one another about how they feel about each player's been performing. "We are a stars-driven league, and our stars aren't getting it done," Lites said. "It's embarrassing, and no one writes it. Write it!" Benn has 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 38 games this season, but there are actually 66 players in the NHL with more points at this juncture. Suffice it to say, the Stars need much more from their team captain, especially with Dallas struggling to ascend near the top of a tightly contested Central Division.

Benn scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Benn's goal came on a tap-in and was his 14th goal of the season, putting him fifth all-time in Stars franchise history with 268 goals in 701 games. It turned out to be the game winner and moves Benn to 27 points on the season. Averaging just 0.79 points per game, Benn is on pace for his worst season since his rookie campaign. Despite that, he remains a threat to score each and every night and owners shouldn't question their decision to deploy Benn on a nightly basis.
