The 26-year-old defenseman has earned four points over eight contests while filling a top-four role this season. If he is forced to miss additional time, Alexander Alexeyev could be in line to make his season debut.

Chychrun was traded to the Capitals from the Senators on Monday in exchange for Nick Jensen and a 2026 third-round pick.
