Muzzin scored a goal on two shots and added three blocks, one hit and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Muzzin got the Leafs on the board late in the second period when he pinched deep into the offensive zone and tapped one home right on the doorstep, tying the game 1-1 with three seconds left on the clock. The 30-year-old is off to a nice start with two goals and eight points through 12 games. He's generally hovered around the 40-point mark in four of his last five seasons, making him a quietly productive fantasy defenseman.

Muzzin recorded two assists, one of them short-handed, in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
The blueliner put together his first multi-point performance of the season, but Muzzin has been a strong contributor for the Leafs in the early going, scoring one goal and seven points in 10 games. His lack of consistent power-play time will make it difficult for the 30-year-old to maintain that pace, however.

Muzzin finished Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Washington with an assist.
EDGE Analysis
The Maple Leafs' top-four blueliner has now collected assists in three of the last four games. Despite the loss, Muzzin continues turning in solid performances on a nightly basis, able to post a plus-2 rating in the loss. A tough Saturday matchup with the Bruins now awaits Muzzin and the Maple Leafs.

Muzzin was paired with newcomer Tyson Barrie at even-strength in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
He didn't pick up any points, but showed flashes of dominating, first-pairing play. No offense to Morgan Reilly, but the Barrie-Muzzin duo give Toronto something it hasn't had in decades and that's a dominant top pairing on the blue line. Muzzin saw a tiny amount of power-play time, but delivered more shorthanded and in peripheral categories like hits, takeaways and blocks. He might not dominate in the fantasy arena, but Muzzin is going to be a key player in the Leafs' march toward Lord Stanley come June.

Muzzin made it to Boston for morning skate Friday morning following the birth of his baby girl Thursday in Toronto, reports TSN.ca.
EDGE Analysis
Admittedly, Muzzin acknowledged the whirlwind of Wednesday's game in Toronto, the scheduled birth of his daughter Thursday and Friday's game in Boston has made him a "little tired." But that was said with a smile. Muzzin has been a force on the ice with his big hits, but his ill-timed pinch Wednesday led to David Pastrnak's goal. He knows he can do better and is prepared to lead the Leafs' defence corps in Game 5.

Muzzin's wife is scheduled to deliver the couple's first child Thursday between Games 4 and 5, reports the Toronto Star.
EDGE Analysis
Hopefully the schedule sticks -- babies often have minds of their own. Muzzin, who has been a difference maker against the Bruins, plans on playing Wednesday night, witness the birth Thursday in Toronto and fly to Boston for Friday's game. "Everything's scheduled. I won't miss any time," Muzzin said. "It's rough timing. But it is what it is." Hopefully the baby sticks to the schedule. Muzzin will be pretty tired come Friday and that could affect his play. Congratulations to the Muzzins.

Muzzin made his return to practice Monday after he was absent from the team due to an illness, Kristen Shilton of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Muzzin hasn't seen the ice since April 1, and finally made his return for Toronto's practice Monday. Head coach Mike Babcock proclaimed Saturday that Muzzin will be available for Game 1 of the team's series against Boston, and this news confirms that notion. The 30-year-old had 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 30 games for Toronto after being traded from the Kings on Jan. 28.

EDGE Analysis
Muzzin missed the last three games of the regular season with an undisclosed issue -- it's likely that the Leafs just wanted to keep the Ontario native ready for their postseason run. Muzzin (undisclosed) will not play in Saturday's matchup with Montreal, Kristen Shilton of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing Saturday's clash, Muzzin will have missed three consecutive games. With the third seed in the Atlantic Division wrapped up the team likely just wants to keep the Ontario native fresh and ready for Game 1 against Boston. Martin Marincin would likely see more work on the blue line in Muzzin's absence.
