The 24-year-old has experienced health problems each of the last two seasons, but being healthy through the beginning of January this season has helped Trouba post four goals and 21 points. He's on pace for career highs in assists, points, and plus/minus. Reaching a career best in goals isn't out of the realm of possibilities either.

Despite his lack of offensive contributions, Trouba continues to log big minutes, as he is averaging 20:32 of ice time during his slump. With 15 points through 36 games this season, the blueliner should still be capable of hitting the 30-point mark for the second time in his NHL career.

Trouba now has two goals and 14 points in 26 games, and the Jets' blueliner was active in Sunday's contest, firing three shots on goal while also blocking a team-high four shots. Meanwhile, Trouba logged more than 25 minutes (26:52) for just the fourth time this season.

Trouba -- who remains bogged down in a 10-game goalless streak -- is on pace for a career year that would see him crack the 30-point mark for just the second time. The Michigan native's inconsistent role on the power play limits his fantasy value, yet he remains a decent mid-range option.

Trouba extended his consecutive point streak to three games with an assist versus the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

After a five-game point drought in mid-October, Trouba has stormed back with five points in his last three outings. The blueliner should have plenty of opportunities to continue to write his name on the scoresheet, considering he is averaging 22:19 of ice time per game (fourth highest on the team).

The points snapped a five-game point drought. Trouba has five helpers in eight games this season, but don't overrate his fantasy value. He's delivered just one full season in five and averaged about 60 games a season in the rest. Trouba's best came in 2016-17 with 33 points in 60 games. But his lack of power-play time pushes him down the rankings.

Trouba, as expected, will be in the lineup against the Kings on Tuesday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Trouba was given a leave of absence for Monday's practice session, as well as Tuesday's game-day skate, but it won't have any impact on his availability versus Los Angeles. Despite not logging any time on the power play, the blueliner has notched a pair of assists in the first two outings of the year.
