Markstrom posted a 32-save shutout in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom spent the last seven years in the Canucks' organization, so maybe he remembered all of their tricks from practice. Either way, his first home game as a Flame was a memorable one -- it was the Swede's sixth career shutout. Markstrom is in position to be one of the better goalies in the league this year. He could get another look at his former teammates if he draws the start in Monday's contest.

Markstrom will protect the home goal in Saturday's game versus the Canucks, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom was solid in Thursday's season-opening overtime loss to the Jets. He had 30 saves on 34 shots but couldn't prevent the Jets' comeback. Markstrom will turn his attention to his former team Saturday -- the 30-year-old Swede spent parts of seven seasons with the Canucks, including the last three years as their primary starter before signing a six-year deal with the Flames as a free agent.

Markstrom stopped 30 of 34 shots Thursday in a 4-3 overtime loss at Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom, making his Calgary debut after signing a six-year deal in the offseason, couldn't hold on to a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes. Second-period goals by Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor (PP) sent the game into overtime, and Patrick Laine won it for Winnipeg in the extra session with his second of two goals. Markstrom went 23-16-4 with a .918 save percentage for Vancouver last season and will be expected to carry the load for the Flames after inking his lengthy and lucrative contract.

Markstrom will defend the blue paint during Thursday's road matchup with Winnipeg, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom had his best season yet with the Canucks in 2019-20, compiling a 23-16-4 with two shutouts while posting an admirable .918 save percentage in 43 appearances. The 30-year-old backstop will attempt to pick up his first win with his new club in a road matchup with a Jets team that averaged 3.00 goals per game last campaign, 17th in the NHL.

Markstrom (groin) officially put pen to paper on a six-year, $36 million contract with the Flames on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom will take over as the No. 1 ahead of David Rittich and slots in for Cam Talbot, who left for Minnesota. If he can stay healthy, Markstrom should be capable of reaching the 30-win mark for the first time in his NHL career. Even with the big pay raise, Markstrom will likely still be in the middle tier of NHL goalies in terms of fantasy value next season.

Markstrom (groin) agreed to terms on a contract with Calgary on Friday, Andy Strickland of Fox Sports Midwest reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom joins the Flames after putting together a solid 2019-20 campaign in which he posted a 23-16-4 record in 43 outings along with a .918 save percentage and two shutouts. The veteran netminder figures to immediately supplant David Rittich as the preferred option with Calgary and replaces the departed Cam Talbot.

According to general manager Jim Benning, had Vancouver advanced, Markstrom (groin) may have been ready to return at some point during the Western Conference finals, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom had been skating prior to Vancouver's elimination from the playoffs, so all signs currently point to him being fully healthy in time for next season's training camp. Thatcher Demko was sensational in place of Markstrom against the Golden Knights, but he's still far from proven as a full-time starter, and the Canucks have already publicly stated that they're focused on re-signing Markstrom, an unrestricted free agent, this offseason. If that comes to fruition, the 30-year-old Swede will still be firmly entrenched as Vancouver's No. 1 netminder heading into the 2020-21 campaign.

Markstrom (groin) will not be available for Friday's Game 7 tilt against Vegas, Thomas Drance of The Athletic Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Markstrom out, Thatcher Demko will make his third straight start while Louis Domingue serves as the backup. If Demko leads the Canucks back from a 3-1 series deficit, Markstrom may not be back on the ice in the Western Conference finals, healthy or not.

Markstrom (groin) is unfit to play and won't even back up for Thursday's Game 6 against Vegas, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom was forced to miss Thursday's Game 5 with the groin injury that appears serious. He's still considered day-to-day with the injury, so if his team can keep winning, he has a chance to return for these playoffs. In his stead, Thatcher Demko will draw another start with Louis Domingue handling back up duties.

Markstrom is considered day-to-day with a groin injury, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's safe to assume Markstrom won't dress for Tuesday's Game 5 versus Vegas, but if the Canucks are able to pick up a win and stave off elimination, he could be back for Thursday's Game 6. In the meantime, Thatcher Demko will take over as the Canucks' starting netminder.
