Markstrom will be between the pipes at home versus Toronto on Thursday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has found wins hard to come by of late, going 2-5-4 in his last 11 contests with a 3.38 GAA and .869 save percentage. A matchup with a Maple Leafs offense that is scoring 3.43 goals per game probably isn't the best thing for the struggling backstop. At this point, Markstrom almost certainly won't get over the 30-win mark as he did last season, but he should still be able to reach 20 victories for the sixth straight campaign.

Markstrom allowed two goals on 15 shots in relief of Dan Vladar in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom didn't start after missing Monday's practice for the birth of his child. He was quickly pressed into duty after Vladar gave up two goals on five shots in the first period, with Markstrom taking over at the start of the second. The Flames were able to briefly take the lead in the third, which make Markstrom the goalie of record as he slipped to 15-15-8 on the year. He's also posted a lackluster 2.96 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 40 appearances. It doesn't get easier when the Flames host the Maple Leafs on Thursday, though it's unclear which goalie head coach Darryl Sutter will turn to for that contest.

Markstrom was absent from practice Monday to be with his partner, Amanda, for the birth of their first chid.
EDGE Analysis
The happy couple welcomed a new baby boy into the world. Markstrom still could be available for Tuesday's game against Boston. He has posted a 15-15-7 record this season with a 2.96 GAA and an .888 save percentage.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 22 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom gave up goals on the first two shots he faced, and the Flames didn't have enough success against Alexandar Georgiev to cover that damage. This was Markstrom's second straight loss, and he's won just two of his last nine outings. For the season, the 33-year-old Swede is at 15-15-7 with a 2.96 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 39 outings. The Flames appear to be in a win-and-stay-in mode with goaltending, so it seems more likely Dan Vladar gets the nod in a tough matchup Tuesday versus the Bruins.

Markstrom will defend the visiting goal versus Colorado on Saturday, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It has been a tough season for the 33-year-old Markstrom, who was outstanding last season, going 37-15-9 with a league-leading nine shutouts, a 2.22 GAA and .922 save percentage. This season, Markstrom is 15-14-7 with a 2.93 GAA and .889 save percentage. The netminder will face the Avalanche, who are on a four-game winning streak and occupy a playoff spot as the second wild card in the Western Conference.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 22 shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom had shown signs of improvement recently, winning two of his previous three outings. However, he struggled Monday, stopping just 18 of 22 shots in a 4-3 loss. The 33-year-old Markstrom falls to 15-14-7 with a .889 save percentage this season. Still, he appears to have the edge over a slumping Dan Vladar on the depth chart for the time being.

Markstrom will defend the cage at home versus the Flyers on Monday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom hasn't suffered a regulation loss in his last four games, posting a 2-0-2 record, 3.19 GAA and .871 save percentage. The 33-year-old netminder will need just five more victories to get over the 20-win mark for the sixth straight season despite sporting his worst GAA since becoming a full-time starter back in 2015-16.

Markstrom turned aside 18 of 20 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Calgary established a 2-0 lead just 46 seconds into the contest, but Markstrom surrendered a goal in each of the second and third periods to tie the game. The Flames still won in overtime though, so Markstrom improved to 15-13-7 with a 2.90 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 37 games in 2022-23. The 33-year-old had a 1-3-3 record, 3.70 GAA and .869 save percentage over his previous eight outings.

Markstrom has won only once in his last eight starts, dropping to 14-13-7 with a 2.93 GAA and .891 save percentage. He has regressed substantially after going 37-15-9 with a 2.22 GAA and .922 save percentage last season.
