Johnson had an assist, two hits and finished minus-3 over 13:31 of ice time in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson, who was a healthy scratch Sunday when Bowen Byram returned from injury, entered Wednesday's lineup after the Avalanche placed Ryan Murray (lower body) on injured reserve for what is an undetermined length of time. He had the secondary helper on the goal that cut Toronto's lead to 3-2, but defensive breakdowns and some soft goals killed Colorado's momentum. He and Kurtis MacDermid should fill in on the third pair for as along as Murray is sidelined.

Johnson was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 6-2 win over Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson sat out his second game of the season in order to create a spot on the active roster for Bowen Byram, who returned from a head injury. Johnson might be back in the lineup for the start of a road trip Wednesday in Toronto, as Ryan Murray left Saturday's contest after just 11 seconds of ice time with a lower-body injury.

Johnson notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson had the secondary helper on Nazem Kadri's first-period tally Saturday. The 34-year-old Johnson is up to two points, 13 hits, nine blocked shots, a plus-2 rating and 24 PIM in 11 contests. He'd probably be best suited as a rotational option on the third pairing, but the Avalanche have seemingly always had at least one blueliner injured to keep Johnson in the lineup.

Johnson had one blocked shot over 12:18 of ice time in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson returned to the lineup after missing one game due to a positive test for COVID-19. He took a puck to the face at one point during the game and needed treatment, which skewed his playing time downward.

Johnson (not injury related) will suit up against the Capitals on Tuesday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Johnson did manage to put one into the netting in the season opener, fantasy players shouldn't be expecting this to be the new normal for the blueliner considering he hasn't reached the five-goal threshold in any of the last four seasons. As such, the Indianapolis native shouldn't be counted upon to provide much in the way of fantasy production.

Johnson has been cleared to travel with the team ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson missed the Avs' matchup with the Blues on Saturday after entering the league's COVID-19 protocols but should be in the mix to rejoin the lineup as early as Tuesday's clash. If Johnson's game fitness is up to speed, he will likely replace Kurtis MacDermid on the blue line.

Johnson tested negative for COVID-19 on Saturday, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic. He needs to test negative again to be able to travel with the team on its three-game road trip.
EDGE Analysis
Colorado has road games Tuesday (Washington), Thursday (Florida) and Saturday (Tampa Bay), so Johnson could end up playing at some point on the trip if he tests negative again. Further clarification should be provided on the veteran rearguard's status in advance of Tuesday's puck drop against the Capitals.

Johnson entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols on Saturday, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson evidently tested positive for COVID-19, so he'll likely be sidelined for a while. With Johnson on the shelf, look for Kurtis MacDermid to enter the Avalanche's lineup for Saturday's game versus St. Louis.

Johnson scored a goal on two shots and doled out four hits in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson needed just 4:26 into the first game of the season to get loose for a breakaway goal. The Avalanche didn't look back after that. The 34-year-old was able to turn a tryout offer into a contract, and now it appears he'll at least fill a bottom-pairing role with penalty-killing duties in 2021-22. Johnson hasn't topped 20 points since 2016-17 with the Blue Jackets, so even his usually strong totals in hits and blocked shots likely won't be enough to attract attention from fantasy managers.

Johhnson signed a one-year, $750,000 deal with the Avalanche on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson is entering his age-35 season and put up just a lone point (a goal) in 13 games with the Rangers last season. He'll provide veteran leadership to a young and talented Avalanche defense corps, but Johnson isn't likely to play or contribute consistently enough to regain fantasy relevance.
