Zajac (upper body) will not play in Friday's tilt with the Red Wings or Sunday's matchup with the Islanders, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.

Zajac has not played since Dec. 3 when he sustained an upper-body injury in a game against Carolina. The 30-year-old center had totaled 15 points through 24 games with the Devils this season before the injury. His next chance to return to action will be on Dec. 15 when New Jersey plays at Buffalo.
