With Kris Versteeg out with injury, Shawn Matthias got to play on the first line Thursday. The 24-year-old who was slotted with Stephen Weiss and Tomas Fleischmann played 17:11 and got one shot on goal. "I went out and just played hockey, didn't worry about anything else, controlled what I can and had fun,'' said Matthias, who also got some time on the power play. Matthias doesn't come too highly recommended just yet because he has never shown much in the way of scoring ability.
