With all the injuries on the Pittsburgh blueline, it does not bode well for Brendan Mikkelson that he has not been recalled. Mikkelson has played 131 NHL games but with five injuries or suspensions on the Pittsburgh blueline, it does seem surprising that Mikkelson was not called upon. "I feel like I can play any style you want to play," Mikkelson said. "I have the size to play a rough-and-tumble game. I can play in my own end, and I can play in the offensive zone." Mikkelson has three goals and 18 points in the AHL including a league leading 11 power play assists.
