Wiederer agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Since being drafted by San Jose with the 150th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, Wiederer has been working on his game in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 114 career games between QMJHL Moncton and Rouyn-Noranda, the German forward posted 58 goals, 59 assists, and a plus-21 rating. The last figure is particularly notable because Wiederer prides himself on his defensive abilities as much as his offensive ones. He'll be a fascinating prospect to watch once the Sharks open training camp this fall.
