Wideman has been suspended for 20 games due to an incident in which he crosscheked a linesman, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wideman was expected to receive a rather lengthy suspension for the hit, and 20 games isn't exactly a surprise. The blueliner will get a chance to appeal the suspension if he'd like, but it also wouldn't be surprising if the veteran accepts the punishment he was handed. If that's the case, Wideman would first be eligible to rejoin his teammates in game action March 14.
