Weiss (groin) is expected to return from his conditioning assignment at AHL Grand Rapids on Sunday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports. Weiss suited up for Grand Rapids on Friday night and will do so again Saturday before the Red Wings recall him. Once he's back with the team, Weiss figures to be a healthy scratch most nights, but with an upcoming schedule that's chock-full of short breaks in between games, he figures to make an appearance in the near future.
