Weber will join the team in a couple of days following the birth of his child, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.

The defenseman was acquired in a trade Tuesday, but remained in Buffalo awaiting the birth of his child. Now that the child has been born, it's expected that Weber will join the team in Chicago for their tilt with the Blackhawks on Sunday. The Caps will carry eight defenseman for the rest of the season, so it's a possibility that Weber will be a healthy scratch even if he's with the team Sunday.
