Wayne Simmonds gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead 40 seconds into the first, but they went on to suffer a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tye McGinn wouldn't score Philadelphia's second goal until 19:28 of the third period and by then the deficit was already to much to overcome. The Flyers have struggled out of the gate with a 5-7-1 start, good for 11th in the East.
