Wayne Simmonds broke out of a seven-game scoring drought on Saturday against Phoenix with his fifth goal of the season. The 23-year-old winger has been a disappointment this season from an offensive point of view with nine points in 25 games. Simmonds has endured a couple of lengthy spells without a point in his first year with Philadelphia, but coach Peter Laviolette likes the way he is playing and gave the youngster some words of encouragement last week. "I've got to start converting on my opportunities," Simmonds said. "The coaches have told me to shoot more, so I'm focusing on that. I've had the chances. I know the success will come."
