Walker signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Capitals on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Walker has been a solid contributor during his last two seasons with the Capitals' AHL affiliate, notching 64 points (28 goals, 36 assists) in 131 games over that span. The 2014 third-round pick should get an opportunity to compete for an Opening Night roster spot in next season's training camp, but his underwhelming production in the minors suggests it's unlikely he'll be making any meaningful impact at the NHL level in 2017-18.
