Virtnaen (hip) has been loaned to Team Canada for the World Juniors, Dhiren Mahiban of the Canadian Press reports.

Virtanen was first sent to the team's AHL affiliate on a conditioning assignment, and it appears he'll finish that out with Team Canada instead. He should rejoin the Canucks when he's done at the World Juniors.
