Coach Joel Quenneville said that Versteeg wouldn't require surgery or spot on long-term injured reserve, but it's tough news to take after the veteran forward turned in a top-notch training camp. The Blackhawks value Versteeg for his versatility on the penalty-kill and at even strength, attributes that are often difficult to quantify in the fantasy game. With Versteeg out of the picture for multiple weeks, the Blackhawks will turn to Ben Smith to step in and fill the void in their bottom-six.
