Versteeg did not skate with the top lines at Monday's practice and is expected to be a healthy scratch for the Blackhawks' game on Tuesday against the Islanders, Chicago Tribune reports. Versteeg has not scored a goal in seven games and struggled in the Blackhawks' last game on Saturday against the Sharks. This is probably another wake-up call by Hawks' coach Joel Quenneville. He recently benched Bryan Bickell so there is a good chance that Versteeg will be back on the ice on Wednesday against the Rangers. Despite the benching Versteeg's numbers are better than last season. He missed a big chunk of time this season with a hand injury, but still has 13 goals and 19 assists in 48 games. In 81 games last season between Chicago and Florida, Versteeg compiled 12 goals and 24 assists.
