Better known as a stay-at-home defenseman, Staal has gone against the grain by producing four assists over the past five games. The Wings haven't been utilizing the veteran as much as they had last season (from 18:25 to 16:45 of average ice time), but Staal is taking some pressure away from oft-injured blueliner Danny DeKeyser.
