Travis Zajac's (Achilles) return to action may be longer than the three months originally forecast. Zajac underwent surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon on August 18th and the original prognosis was a three month recovery but it may be as long as four-six months depending on the recovery time. "It depends on the athlete and the person, but from guys I've talked to with the injury that (three months) seems like a reasonable timeframe for some guys and some guys were a little longer," Zajac said. "Hopefully, if things progress well (he'll be back in three months). I was told it's the rehab that is the key part that's going to get you back the quickest." It will be hard to take Zajac this season as he may not be able to return until January or February, although once he does, he should line up alongside Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk on the Devils' top line.
