Travis Zajac will get the chance to play at home when the Devils play at Winnipeg Thursday night. His Achilles tendon injury kept him out of all but 15 games last season and he missed the chance to play the Jets in his hometown as a result. "Excited is an understatement for where he's at," coach Pete DeBoer on Wednesday. "He's been looking forward to this game for over a year. I know he had it targeted last year as a potential game that he would be back for after his injury but unfortunately he didn't get back in time. Then he had a setback and we didn't get him back, really, until the playoffs, at close to 100 percent." Zajac has had a difficult time producing offense this season, with four goals and two assists in 19 games, but as the Devils' top-line center he should get plenty of opportunity to break out during the second half of the year.
