Tomas Vokoun was partially motivated by a desire to win the Stanley Cup when he signed a two-year/$4 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins acquired Vokoun's rights from Washington in exchange for a seventh round pick. Vokoun is entering a situation where he's projected to be the number two goaltender. However, he seems to be willing to make that sacrifice for the sake of playing for a club with a recent history of success. "I would love to win the Stanley Cup. I've been playing for a long time and I haven't had a chance to do that," Vokoun said. "For me, I think I could be useful in many situations. Whatever they're going to need me to do, I'm going to try and do the best I can to help the team be successful."
