Tomas Vokoun turned aside 30 shots but was outshone by the goalie on the other side, Cam Ward, as the Washington Capitals took a 3-0 loss to the Hurricanes in Carolina Friday night. Washington had won four of its past five games and entered 8-0-1 in its past nine against Carolina. But, despite Vokoun's excellence, the Capitals couldn't get a puck past the red-hot Ward. The Caps were 0-for-3 on the power play. It was Vokoun's 11th start in 12 games.
