Tomas Vokoun is expected to bring consistency and stability to the Washington Capitals this season.
Vokoun will undoubtably enter the season as the Capitals starting goaltender and for the first time since the days of Olaf Kolzig, Washington will boast an established true number-one goalie. Year in, year out, Vokoun has posted great numbers on an offensively anemic Panthers team. Since the lockout, Vokoun has recorded a save percentage of .919 or better in all six seasons playing for mostly mediocre Panthers clubs. He didn't often get the credit that he deserved, mostly because of where he played, but all that will change now in Washington. Playing for the cup contending Capitals, Vokoun should have a sub 2.50 goals-against average to go along with a save percentage that will rank in the top-tier of the league. His fantasy value also increases as he now has a legitimate shot at 40 wins and will no longer be a handicap in fantasy leagues that uses losses as a scoring category.
