Tomas Holmstrom made his retirement official on Tuesday. "It wasn't an easy decision, but it is the right one," said Holmstrom. "Some people may think me crazy for all of those years of taking cross-checking to my neck, my head, to my back and having my teammates shooting hundred mph pucks at me - and at the net sometimes, too. But I had the greatest job in the world. Now, it's time to move on." Holmstrom finished his career with 243 goals, 530 points, and 769 penalty minutes in 1,026 career games. He spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings and won four Stanley Cups with the franchise.
