Toews (head) has been cleared to play Saturday against the Islanders, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. Though it was initially feared that Toews suffered a concussion after taking a hard hit in Thursday's game, it appears the center escaped a serious head injury. He was back on the ice for Friday's morning skate and endured no troubling symptoms, allowing doctors to greenlight his return to the lineup. The top-line center has 11 goals and 23 points through the Blackhawks' first 29 games.
