Tim Thomas set aside 38 shots in the Panthers' 5-4 shootout win against the Predators on Saturday night. Thomas is proving why Team USA didn't just discard him from the list of candidates for the third goalie on the squad despite him not playing all of last year. He's a battler and is giving the Panthers a chance each night. Prior to tonight, he had not given up more than two goals in four straight games. Thomas has a 2.66 goals-against average and .912 save percentage this season.
