Tim Thomas is still talking to several teams, but he's not expected to sign Tuesday. Thomas isn't looking to serve as a backup goaltender, which severely limits his options. Given that Thomas took a year off hockey and is 39 years old, any team offering him the number one gig would be taking a huge risk. Maybe Calgary for example would be willing to let him compete for the spot in training camp, but there aren't many other teams that are likely to give him that opportunity.
