Tierney was recalled from AHL Worcester on Thursday, CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz reports. After placing Matt Nieto (ankle) and Mike Brown (lower body) on injured reserve Wednesday, Tierney and defenseman Matt Tennyson were recalled to fill the vacated spots on the roster. Tierney previously made the Sharks' Opening Night roster, accumulating no goals and two assists in 11 games with the big club before his reassignment. He's since sizzled at Worcester (one goal, nine assists in 12 games), but it seems unlikely that level of production will carry over in his return to the Sharks, especially while he remains confined to a bottom-six role.
