Thornton found the net for the third time this season in Thursday's loss to the Wild. Thornton was on the finishing end of a 2-on-1 with Joe Pavelski that gave the Sharks a 3-1 lead in the third period, but the Wild would respond with two tallies in the next 10 minutes to send the game to overtime. Though he no longer has the captain designation for the Sharks, Thornton hasn't seemed to be affected by it. He's continued to produce at close to a point-per-game clip this season, notching three goals and eight assists over 12 contests.
