The San Jose Sharks will look for an improvement in their power play when play resumes on Thursday.
The Sharks have scored only once in their last 24 opportunities with Joe Thornton and others staying on too long being one of the problems according to coach Todd McLellan. "One, we weren't sharp, two, we stayed out a little too long and weren't able to recover pucks," McLellan said. "We were slow to shoot. There's a lot of factors that come into play. We'll address that as players come back. That's the last thing we'll work on coming out of the Olympic break." The Sharks are ranked 18th in the NHL in power play efficiency as they have scored 37 times in 215 chances. Matthew Nieto was the only Shark to find the back of the net in the last 24 chances.
