The Red Wings will be without veteran Todd Bertuzzi for the two weekend games because of his ailing back.
With Bertuzzi out, the Red Wings recalled forward Joakim Andersson from Grand Rapids. Andersson (6-foot-2, 205 pounds), 24, provides the Red Wings with Bertuzzi-like size and a grinding game, which could prove critical with the big and physical Stanley Cup champion Kings in town Sunday. "Andersson is having a good season (10 goals, 17 assists), has size, he's good defensively, and this is a good opportunity to evaluate him," Detroit GM Ken Holland said. "We didn't want to wake up this weekend and need a body." Andersson (2008, fourth-round pick) played in five games with the Red Wings last season, going pointless. He had 21 goals and 30 assists last year with the Griffins. Coach Mike Babcock likely will move Daniel Cleary up to the second line to replace Bertuzzi.
