The play of Alexander Edler tailed off in the late stages of the regular season and the playoffs. Edler had a very good fantasy season with 11 goals, 49 points, 228 shots on goal and 145 hits, but was prone to defensive gaffes at inopportune times in March and April, and that concerns the Vancouver Canucks. He is also a power play stud with 22 points as he quarterbacked the power play for most of the season. Perhaps it was the pressure of being the Canucks top blueliner, but if the mistakes on the defensive side of the game persist in 2012-13, the Canucks will be concerned. Still, because of his offensive prowess, Edler is a top five fantasy blueliner in pools.
