The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Andrew MacDonald from the New York Islanders in exchange for a 2015 second-round pick and 2014 third-round selection. In MacDonald, the Flyers are getting a versatile defender. He's capable of logging 25 minutes per game, leads the league with 198 blocked shots, and has 24 points in 63 games this season. This move should help his plus/minus rating, which is an ugly minus-19, but we doubt he'll get much power-play time on a team that already has Kimmo Timonen and Mark Streit. With that in mind, this trade actually hurts his fantasy value.
