The Panthers are hoping that their goalie of the future, Jacob Markstrom, can help the team get back on track in the present. "We've got to start to put him into the system, see if he can play some games and get some experience," GM Dale Tallon said Wednesday. "Also, we have to stem the tide. I'm not happy. It's a critical part of the season and every game is important. We need to cut our goals-against down. He's played great down there. It's his third season as a pro and time to see what he can do. I'm not going to sit still and allow this to continue." In eight career appearances with Florida, Markstrom has a 2-5-1 record with a .920 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA. He is expected to start either Thursday or Friday, but coach Kevin Dineen hasn't decided which game to play him in yet.
