The New York Rangers are reportedly interested in unsigned prospect Kevin Hayes. Hayes is only under Chicago's control until August 15. If he doesn't sign by then, he'll become an unrestricted free agent and can join any team. Hayes, who has experience playing alongside Rangers forward Chris Kreider, would have a good chance of making the Rangers' opening game roster if he decides to sign with them. He had 27 goals and 65 points in 40 games with Boston College last season.
