The New York Post is reporting that the Rangers will complete the buyout of Chris Drury's contract today.
He has reportedly decided against applying for a medical exception due to a left knee condition and will become an unrestricted free agent. He can agree to a one-year contract, with bonuses, because he was on the Rangers' injured reserve for more than 100 days, which should make his addition to another team more attractive. Drury appeared in just 24 games in 2010-11 after breaking his finger twice and having to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.
