The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly turned down an offer that would have seen them acquire P.A. Parenteau from the Avalanche in exchange for Rene Bourque. Now healthy after missing 10 games due to a knee injury, Parenteau's offensive stats are respectable, but with a litany of talented players up front, the Avalanche don't have much room for him on a scoring line. Bourque would have been a solid depth addition for Colorado, but Montreal clearly values him more highly than the Avs expected. Perhaps this explains why Parenteau is being scratched on Monday night.
